agreed, jst improvise, it seems to get ur hands moving more freely, try and use different techniques as well, also gets ur brain working

Try playing -

and keep going up the neck (2-3-4-5, 3-4-5-6 etc.)

do this for about 5 mins and you'll be warmed up.

I used to slide a chord up the frets like this:

B-------------------------
G-2------4------6-------
D-2------4------6-------
A-0-0-0-2-2-2-4-4-4--
E-------------------------

And kept on going up and then went down when I got on the 12th fret. I also palm muted the notes on the A string after the actual chord.
