Stairway. What the **** is that emo song you listed? If you think it's the most covered, why haven't I heard of it?

It's Rod Stewart, and it HAS been covered a crapton of times.

I would say 99 red balloons. And every different cover is a different experience.

yeah, I woulda thought Yesterday, I've heard that somewhere. Stairway was a first thought as well. (Even though it's crap, I don't understand it's appeal, oh well)

I'm pretty sure it's Yesterday by the Beatles.
If you could blow up the world with a flick of a switch,
Would you do it?

If you could make everybody poor just so you could be rich,
Would you do it?

With all your power,
What would you do?

""Yesterday" has achieved recognition as being the most recorded song in the history of popular music; its entry in the Guinness Book of Records suggests over 3000 different cover versions to date, by an eclectic mix of artists including The Seekers, Joan Baez, Liberace, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Daffy Duck, Wet Wet Wet, Plácido Domingo, The Head Shop, and Boyz II Men."

I would say "Stairway to Heaven". Why? Because people die. And reletives of those people want to play a funeral song.

If I was going to guess something more along the heavier lines...hmmm Eruption?

You are aware that the song itself has no references to death at all... right?

Stairway was the first thing that came to mind, but it's Yesterday, which is also a good song.
