I started playing almost 6 months ago and I have definitely got playing down. I have an Ibanez GAX-70 guitar. I've been playing it and I love the guitar, except for it being a bit too sensitive to hard playing, and I'm joining a metal band on rhythm guitar. I may just need a new amp(Marshall 10 watt MG 10kk, yes I know they SUCK) but I'm still wondering whether or not a better guitar would be in order for playing in a band. I get an excellent sound out of it(when I use my Boss Metal Zone pedal at any rate)

Any advice? Please don't recommend a Gibson Explorer....I do NOT like those.....lol sorry if anyone out there doesn't like that.

you need a new amp. i say invest on a new amp before a guitar.
Ibanez RG321MH (Air Classic/Tone Zone)
Fernandes Telecaster (Twang King/stock bridge pickup)
Blackstar HT-20 (Scumback 55 speaker/ Tung Sol tubes)
TC Electronic Nova Repeater
Lava Cables Clear Connect, Soar and Mini ELC

As far as amps, i own an Ibanez 30 watt toneblaster and you will not find a better metal amp for the price, and yeah personally i would get a better guitar, I am looking at a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser, but i dont know what price range you want to buy in!
Gear
Jackson Rhodes
Jackson Kelly With EMG HZ's
Epiphone Les Paul Standard
Sierra 28ce Acoustic Electric
Peavey Vypyr 212 (tube)
Line 6 Floor pod
Ibanez Toneblaster 30w
Custom Bass I built from spare parts
Fender Rumble 60 bass amp

Oh, thanks for the advice. I am looking anywhere from 300-650 price range. At 18 it's a bit hard to have spending money with my job, so I need to be frugal lol. I had my eyes on the Line 6 Spider III 120 for an amp.

I really wish I could say you're funny and cool, but that would be like saying Africa doesn't have a poverty problem.

Lol ok, so the Spider III=craaap on your sig ^^. I have a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Pedal, it produces a nice sound for the price. I keep hearing that Metal Muff is the best to buy.

^get it

get a 50 watt 112 valveking

the 100 watt is overkill even in a band hell even for medium sized gigs
if you like british voiced MOP tone get an orange tiny terror they are good metal amps

and perhaps a used 5150
