Little wing by Hendrix, listen to it before asking why.

Eminence Front by The Who, same as above

Come as you are by Nirvana, that's grunge' only reason to be reckoned as a genre

Many songs from Bob Marley, how to choose between could you be loved, iron lion zion or trenchtown rock (listen to the live version on the gold album, simply orgasmic).

Much more from Santana (again, try to pick between soul sacrifice, samba pa ti or mirage).

These are the songs I pick up and these are the songs that would pick me up no matter how pathethic or dirty or whatever-you-choose I could be any day, true friends if you ask me.
I love music, if music would be a girl then I'd date her, until then let's get back on Earth

though this thread isn't really in the right place I'm not going to be like the "*reported*" guy so here's mine...
1-Echoes-Pink Floyd something about this song in it's entirety is just epic, no one thing did it for me, the vocals of Roger and Dave together were perfect for me and the music is amazing, great use of the piano...
2- NIN- Leaving Hope great instrumental, again no one thing did it for me but I like it...
3- Everlong- Foo Fighters "And I wonder, when i sing along with you, if everything could ever be this good forever, if anything could be this good again" that line really did it, great song
4- Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)- Metallica Cliff Burton did something that hadn't ever been done before by giving the bassist the spotlight, distortion melody awesome second part, no bassist will ever feel the same again after hearing this I think (I sure didn't)
5- Wish- NIN "Put my faith in God and my trust in you. Now there's nothing more F---ed up I can do" great line awesome music and everything

In no particular order
--Heartbreaker and The Ocean by Led Zeppelin (can't really choose between the two). Both songs showed Zeppelin's "hardest" side and the energy in the two songs, especially in How the West was Won and The Song Remains the Same, is immense.
--Wet Sand by RHCP: Sure it's from Stadium Arcadium, sure the album had more mainstream songs than we would have liked, but the song and the album are musically emotional and show the band's talent. Wet Sand, while not being funk, is more reminiscent of Under the Bridge and the bulk of the song is calm and soothing. However, it builds in intensity and ends with what is probably the best solo on the whole album. You can feel the emotion oozing out of the speakers when Frusciante rips out the solo. I get shivers every time I hear that solo.
--Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. The Solo, 'nuff said
--Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin: The riff and the solo in How the West was Won
--As I Am and Hollow Years by Dream Theater: The former's intensity and Mike Portnoy's drumming. The solo in Hollow Years (live in Budokan) is one of my favorite Dream Theater solos

They're songs...that I like. Liam Gallagher, Tom Waits, and Shannon Hoon have amazing voices and I love the innovativeness behind Sonic Youth and Modest Mouse.

I honestly can't pick an order but if it came down to 5 songs these would probably be it:

Good Times-Finger Eleven
Awesome verse/chorus. Cool vocal work. Overall exciting song.

Metalingus-Alter Bridge
One of my favorite drum lines ever and Mark Termonti's guitar work is phenominal. Great vocal performance to boot.

The Pot-Tool
It's Tool, everything part of the song is awesome. One of my favorite bass lines ever.

A Certain Shade of Green-Incubus
Awesome driving rhythm, cool effects on the guitars. Bass slapping, turntables, entertaning lyrics and powerful vocals.

Creep-Radiohead
Very relaxing, the lyrics are somewhat personal to me. Thom Yorke is a great singer and even greater songwriter.
