So I'm trying to set up my mic and my Logitech webcam in order to capture video with the cam and record audio with this higher quality microphone. The mic doesn't have a USB plug or anything, its just a 3mm male jack that I plugged into the mic jack in the back of my computer.

I can get the crappy Windows Sound Recorder thing to pick up the mic fine but I have no idea how to make the Logitech software find it. The only mic options it gives me are the cam itsself and "SoundMAX Digitial audio", which doesn't pick up anything (unless I'm doing something wrong.)

Can any Software savvy people help me? My acoustic guitar sounds like utter **** through my webcam.

I didn't read all of it, but I would reccomend using Audacity to record stuff.

Its still a pain trying to sync up the Audacity recording with whatever my webcam captures.

Plus I like playing for my friends on Stickam and the like.
