UG Band!
NEED A NAME! IDEAS WELCOME.

Want to join a fun, relaxed, online band? Here it is, the colossal online band, consisting of the notorious Pit/UG members.

UPDATE: written by shreddin_frets.

Alright, theres some confusion as to whats going on here. Bear with us, we're still trying to get in the air here.

DEADLINE TO SIGN UP IS JULY 21st!

WE WILL BE BREAKING DOWN EVERYONE INTO SEPARATE BANDS!

This is because we have 20-25+ members in here, and getting a song with that amount of people done is as impossible as getting Lindsay Lohan off cocaine. If you would like to work with a certain person let us know! We're going to be pairing people up based on styles (If I understand slap-a-bass correctly), but other than that it will be completely random. Also, if you want a certain style, please let us know! We don't want to put someone who's a shredder in a sappy love song. We need our talents in the correct places.

You may be asked to be in more than one band, specificly drummers. There arent many here, so you may be asked to do a couple bands. Our software guys will do some drums, but you can only get a certain sound from true drums. We do realize you are only human, and if you can't do that amount of work, it's okay.

The number of songs each band will do is still being debated. It will probably be in the 2-4 range, but don't take my word for it. LotsofVolume, Slap-a-bass, and I will talk about it and let everyone know ASAP.

Post here if interested, and I'll add your name to the list (make sure you include what instrument you play).

the idea is good! but i dont think 20 guitarist doing harmonies would sound very good, like mud prolly. but if we like separated into like quartets and then had a contset!! now thers an idea!

Yeah, that's heaps better and thanks!

Well, we'd have to write out harmonies. The lead player does the lead line, and then sends it to the 2nd guitar to lay thier part over that, send to the 3rd, etc etc.

I would totally be down for this.
#6
I'd like this idea better if I was actually good at guitar.

It doesn't matter! You could still play in it.

Yeah, that sounds like a very logical and systematic approach.

Awesome.
Should I edit my first post with the usernames of people willing to participate?
In other words, do you think this idea is likely to go ahead?

Well, if this takes off, then yes. We're going to need to know who is doing what if this is to be successful.

Great idea.

This could be awesome if everybody is divided into different bands.

I would do vocals for some kind of acoustic-pop thing.

I sure would love to do this, but have limited access to recording stuff.

It's ok, we can work around that.

Vox. I'm a bass-baritone as well as a growler.

I would say guitar, but my recording equipment is eugh.

EDIT: I could also contribute to composing on any parts, if need be.

you can count me in for guitar, keyboard (as long as it's nothing too complex), and some mixing stuff. i've got pretty decent recording stuff, and i'd be happy to help put things together if you'd like.
#39
Great, added you all.
And yeah, we'll figure out tabs. It'll be easier to get everyone else knowing what's happening with the music that way.
#40
I'd be willing to take part as a co-leader of this.

However, from the 19th to 1st of August I will be gone, as I will be at Band Camp. Hopefully we'll already have the basic layout and drums, maybe bass line recorded.
