ive been playing guitar for about 2.5 years now and i want to know your opinion abvout a good electric guitar that is pretty cheap and is good for a first guitar. i plan to be playing rock and alternative. and i hope to join a band soon. ive been playing a cheap acoustic guitar thats been getting me by. the amp i can figure out on my own...

well, what kind of music do you like to play? what kind of amp do you use? it's probably a smaller, solid state amp but just wondering. it helps us narrow it down for you.

anyway, i'd recommend maybe a Les Paul or SG, they have a thicker tone unlike Stratocasters and Telecasters. It's really up to you, what kinda sound you want and how comfortable the guitar is to you. Try a bunch out.
