First off, I'd like to point out that I have ever done any guitar modifications, and this is just an idea i might try out in the future, so any basic info concerning mods would be helpful.

I was thinking of using a hollowbody guitar for bowing. Would it be possible to put a Fender bridge on one? Just so I could be able to adjust each individual string's height (to arch them like a violin).
Also, if I bought a hollowbody that had 2 humbuckers, would it be possible to change it so that I just had one? (and not have it look ridiculous).

Thanks!

..and yes, this is inspired by Jonsi's guitar.

edit: never done any mods

Why would you want just one humbucker? you can switch so one isn't "on" you know that right?

Haha yeah, I know, but just for simplicity. I think it would look better too. Also, the rosin from the bow could eventually wreck the neck pickup.

Theres not really enough adjustment on a strat style bridge for that much arch like a violin has. And the Tom bridge on a hollow body sits up pretty high off the body so you would need a serious spacer to get a strat hardtail bridge up that high. It would need to be a top loading bridge so you didnt have to drill string thru holes. If you have never worked on the electronics of a hollow body are you ever in for an adventure. They are a real pain to work on as there is no rear cover for access all the work needs to be done thru the fholes. Something that takes 5 minutes on a regular guitar takes 2 hours on a hollow body.
