Hey,

I would like to pick up a delay pedal, what is the best for somthing simple and not too expensive 100$ ish

Analog or what?

and most are like 600ms which I take means milliseconds and this seems awful short? I'm not really sure

How much would a talk box be also?

Thanks for any help

Well, I'm pretty sure you don't need analog delay since digital delays these days are very good. Analogues are heavyer and bigger. I guess those units are for people looking for really vintage sound or gear but the truth is, to the "default" ear it probably wouldn't matter.

Of course depends on what your intentions are.

I guess you could go with BOSS DD series, DD-3 and DD-6 should be easy to get and quite cheap, with th release of DD-7 this year and all that jazz.

Digital is fine, but I prefer analog. Warmer tones, very nice.

I suggest the Carbon Copy, mainly because it rivals the DD-7 on price, even thought the DD-7 has a huge number of features. The Carbon copy is just a really good delay.

And 600ms isn't as short as you would think. Give satriani's "Ceremony" a listen- that is at roughly 330ms throughout. A second is quite a long time in terms of music.

600ms is probably more than enough for me. It depends on you if you need more.
