That should help
''A serious Gibson collector would consider a model like this as an interesting curiousity, but probably wouldn’t offer over $700 unless in truly immaculate condition. Still, there are other people who might consider this a truly rare, one-of-a-kind specimen and offer maybe $1200 or more if it’s near-mint condition. I wouldn’t hold my breath on that, though. ''

From that sounds like he got a good deal. But it just looks like a Les Paul with the switch moved from the one picture i have seen of it.

When was the SG resealed?

I know the SG was released as 'The New Les Paul' but sold better as the SG than that. Just from where the switch is placed is like an SG.

The Invader was one the bolt on 80's models from the Norlin era (echhh) it was just another variation on the theme, along with the Corvus, S-1, and both varieties of the Marauder ( LP style and L6-S style ) Had a Marauder (LP style), And it's bridge p/u was the weakest thing I'd ever heard even for a DiMarzio design, Oh wasn't the Corvus one of the butt-ugliest Gibsons ever?

They might be ugly, but are now highly sort after and prized guitars. I know a guy who, when those guitars were released loved them and bought 5. Sold them all bough a new car this year with the money. A good one too.
