House Of The Rising Sun?
Starts with Am and then a C.

House of the Rising Sun. It's originally by the Animals, but Muse do an awesome rocked-up synth-laden version of it. Check it out on YouTube, I prefer it to the original.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

It's not originally by The Animals. They have most possibly done the most famous version but the song itself was sung a long long time before The Animals.

Yeah more or less. As mentioned above it's an old folk song.

Ok, fair enough, the second one is pretty damn famous, but is it their version that's famous? (cba to check the link)

I doubt the ones who wrote the song even were a band. It's a folk song that's supposed to be like 100 years old and I doubt The Animals started playing back then.
