I really want to get into vinyl records but I have no clue on as to what to get..

I was looking at something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/CROSLEY-CR67-TURNTABLE-Record-Player-CASSETTE-AM-FM-Oak_W0QQitemZ300239621418QQihZ020QQcategoryZ3283QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but could I hook it up to some external speakers because as far as it looks the speakers arent very big there..

Any help, tips, or knowledge would be appreciated.

If you are going to get into records then go all the way and buy a proper stereo. With the amp and hookups for not only your turntable but also your cd player and your computer. Then there is also room for getting more speakers. With something like that you aren't going to get all you can out of the sound of a record.

In my experience the Crosley's suck; materials and such. You'll really appreciate going with a proper stereo and the benefit of buying it part by part is that you can upgrade to your liking without ditching the whole system.
