I'm making a list of what I believe to be the 500 greatest songs of all time and I was hoping you guys could give me some not-well known songs you consider classics. So if you write, "Free Bird" or "Stairway" FAIL. I know and appreciate a wide level of music so I have songs from all different eras of music. From Robert Johnson to today's music. So help me out I'm almost at 400.

If they're for songs that you believe are the greatest songs of all time, why do you need the pit?

Fuck yeah. Eddie Hazel is one of my favorite guitarists of all time, and it was Maggot Brain that first got me into Funkadelic, which lead to Parliament, which lead to a whole wide world of funk.
I simply cannot take this god-awful place anymore. Goodbye to all the good people here. The rest can fuck off.

I have not heard this whole song but I was just sampling it on itunes and just hearing it for 30 seconds, there is probably a 99% chance that I will put that on. Sounds amazing

I find myself listening to White Stripes Covers of Bob Dylan songs incessantly. One More Cup Of Coffee and Lovesick stand out in my mind.

Some Black Keys stuff may be worth checking out.

I'm rather partial to T-Bone Walker's Stormy Monday. I should think that it definitely counts as a classic.

Man, the last couple verses (excluding the weird little hidden track) about him raping his mother sent shivers up my spine. (This coming from a guy who actually does listen to "I come blood" on a regular basis. )

"Poet Laurette II"- Canibus is probably one of the better crafted hip-hop songs out there.

Have you heard their cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene"? It' really good. I have her verison on here. I try not to put covers on this list unless the band who did the cover is known for making that song famous. Few people know that The Top Notes did "Twist and SHout" or The Arrows did "I Love rock n' roll"

What album is that Radiohead song on, I've never heard it before. Also, I ****in' love System of a Down and I'm putting some of their stuff on her ebut I always though Ddevil was some of their constant (at least for the first 3 albums) filler like CUBErt and X. Is there even a point to "Shake your spear at Shakespeare?" I'll bet there is actually.

Thanks, I'll check these out. Of this list I like "four kicks" and love Kings of Leon but I don't think I've heard a song of theirs I would put on the list but maybe I'll change my ming. And yeah Protest the hero is awesome. I only have their first record, Kezia. And Psychostick, I can't believe someone else knows about these guys! I saw this video online with a song called "BEER!!!" and so I went on itunes and downloaded it.

Four Kicks is a freaking awesome song. I love the video.
I was dragged into Hot Topic today, and they were playing Protest the Hero. I was like, 'Whoa. Points for Hot Topic.'
Turns out they were playing Fortress on repeat. I was happy.
Beer! is actually one of Psychostick's worst songs, IMO. They have much better ones. Throwin' Down, The Dumb Song, Orgasm = Love, Two Ton Paperweight, and In a Band to Get Chicks are good ones. They did covers of The Hokey Pokey, and the ABC song, called The Hokey ****in' Pokey and ABCDEath respectively. They're hilarious.

Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, and Barenaked Ladies are good. Not exactly unknown, but they haven't done much recently.

Presidents of the United States of America - Peaches
Trust Company - Stronger
Future Leaders of the World - Let Me Out

Some other good songs as well.
