I have a Marshall JCM 800 1960a cab.
i strictly play metalcore stuff.

i like the sound of it.
i play it through a peavey valveking head.

a local in my area is selling a Laney 4x12(don't know the model)
really good condition. it has the white tubing around the inside edge
like a high quality marshall does.

for only $150 he's selling it.
he doesn't play much, he just needs to get rid of it for space around his house.

I know one of my favorite band Architects play through Laney stacks and they're progressive metalcorish.

So the real question, should i sell my marshall and buy the Laney for the style i play and save some money? or should i keep the marshall?

Umm well first of all it's a cab.

Just by switching from Marshall to Laney isn't going to give you a more metal sound.

And without knowing the models or speakers in it, no one can really help you.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

The cab won't make much of a difference, it's the speakers that change the sound. It will probably have Celestion 70/eighty which are absolutely terrible.
