How about Dolly Parton's version of Stairway to Heaven? Or William Shatner's version of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds?

It might not be bad.. just because they're completly different styles doesn't mean the cover will suck. Those are my favourite kind of covers (when done well). Search Alanis Morissette's cover of Geurilla Radio on Youtube. It's awesome.

I herd snoop dog is doing a cover of "walk the line" by Johnny Cash.
Look for his 'cover' of Riders On The Storm.

Actually, I like that version. Its certainly not a cover, more like playing a verse of the original, and then a bit of his own stuff, and repeating.

If thats what he does with Walk the Line, it should be good.

THE WORST COVER EVER!!

how about cakes veriosn of war pigs
the ruined the song
Why do people complain about metal covers? The only ones that don't get complaints are the ones that are covered in a metal style, as if metal is a holy genre that can't have its songs performed in inferior styles. Cake's War Pigs cover isn't great, but its in their own style and some fans of Cake might really like it. If you hate the cover so much, then just listen to the original.

You talking about "My Medicine?"

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ks3w859ujbU

It's not bad. Everlast playing guitar and singing back-up are pluses.

EDIT: Plus Willie Nelson's in it

To be honest it's nice to see rappers broaden their horizon and show that they can be more open minded than your average pitmonkey.

I was about to say Green day's "Workin' class hero", cuz i don't like Beatles as well, so i don't know if the original version is better or worst (excuse me, beatles) but you've got a bunch of really bad covers. Before I saw this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAMyQdBWhUw - i've been really thinkin that i can't sing well. But now i know that i'm a ****in vocal genius.
So this video get's my vote -

I liked that. Never heard the original to be honest so I can't compare, but I sure as hell can say this isn't the worst cover ever.

It's not a cover, just a dedication to Johnny Cash. And the lyrics seem to be based off parts of American Pie, which is partly based off Jumping Jack Flash.

See that's what I love about music. Everything is connected. And everything, whether it's Snoop Dog, Britney Spears, Johnny Cash, or the White Stripes, can be traced back to a common ancestor, Robert Johnson. Music is like this ever-growing and ever-evolving creature that brings us joy and unites the most diverse groups of people. It's a beautiful thing, guys.

Every cover on those frickin commercials that kill every classic song until theres nothing left FOR HUMANITY TO LIVE BY AND EVERY OUNCE OF LIF IS TAKEN AWAY!!!!

and then they tell you about the honda
#35
Why is it whenever a rap artist samples a song everyone says they ripped it off? It's a sample you fools. Actually the way some of the hip hop production teams and DJ's mix and combine samples is pretty brilliant.

I guess it's just rock elitists who judge all rap by hearing The Game on the radio. The fools.

Lennon's Working Class Hero was a great song, but I was actually really surprised to find that Green Day's more than did it justice.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.
