well the title says it. i play classic/punk/hard rock and maybe a bit heavier like black sabbath too.

Hmmm...well. Do you want single coil tone, or more along the lines of humbucking. You can do sabbath with singles, but it's harder.

i think any single coil would work i use single coils on my strat and i can get a good sabbath tone and metallica tone. for sabbath you use the neck and and middle and you back off the tone knob on the neck pickup a little, for metallica it is the same execpt its on the bridge pickup and middle.

I know. I can get Sabbath tone when needed.

I was asking him whether he wanted single sound, or humbucker. You can do it either way. It's just preference.

Dimarzio makes some nice singles. The YJM ones are cool. You could also check out duncan hot rails. Both of those go more into the humbucker realm.

Duncan makes some pretty standard single coils. AlNICo and everything.
