can u put ernie ball slinky strings on an acoustic . the packaging says electric and acoustic guitars. They are the green ones . 10 gauge . it just seems to light for an acoustic . If i did do it how would it work out ?Did anyone try this before?

You can do it just fine, the only problem is tonally, most people find strings meant for electric guitars sound awful on acoustics (and strings meant for acoustics sound awful on electrics). Depending on the type of G string, the G string may have some tuning problems on some guitars too, but that's pretty random.

But basically, it will work, and you won't damage your guitar or anything from it. You just might not like how it ends up sounding.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

you could but it would be hard to keep it in tune. plus it wouldn't sound as good as it would with acoustic but if all you have is electric then there isn't much of a choice is there?

You're sorely mistaken. My dad does this for his arthritic hands, and it sounds horrible. It's a terrible compromise that should only be done if absolutely necessary.
Sincerely, Chad.

I put these EBall 10's on my acoustic because I thought it would be easier on my fingers - didn't keep them on long though because the sound was awful.
