Neither Lamb of God, Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth are death metal... But I guess it's all good if that's the kinda stuff TS is after anyway...

Edit: And neither are Trivium.

The only Death Metal song I've ever seen in Drop D is Lacertine Forest by Psycroptic.

EDIT: Under the Oath is right, nothing in the thread so far is actually Death Metal.

btw in Death Metal; the normally accepted thought is that drop d and what not are a cop out.

They are frowned upon because of all the trendy bands strumming chords and not knowing how to play a single open chord.

i mean Bodom has some Drop C just a step up and there yah go drop d.

thats about all i can think.. and bodom isnt even death metal haha

Pretty much all of Nile's stuff is in Drop A, which is much lower than you're wanting, but that's the only death metal band that comes to mind who use drop tunings. Good luck trying to do some of the crazy stuff that Sanders does though.

The Grand Conjuration is some really weird tuning, not standard style or drop style and i dont think opeth are death metal. more like prog with death metal and 70's psychedlic (sp) rock influences.

Six Feet Under has a lot of Drop D stuff. Chris Barnes may be **** in SFU but the guitar rocks.

Right. Drop D isn't used much in death metal.

Psycroptic- the colour of sleep (my favorite song by them, i think all their songs are drop D)
Opeth- Demon of the fall, Beneath the Mire (drop d tab on UG)
Dethklok- Duncan Hills Coffee Jingle :p
