Hey, im looking for a good interface for my new macbook.

I was hoping to be able to get a 8 input xlr so i can record drums but i only have a budget
of $7-800AUS and thats just for the interface and monitors.

If i cant afford that i could record drums at a friends house and just use a 4 xlr input interface for guitar bass and vocals, so any suggestions to which ones?

Im running logic pro 8 as well if that helps

Thanks.

The macbook also has optical input/output if that helps. So if i could get a firewire 4 input interface with a optical input, and then later a larger interface with optical out, would that work?

Slightly cheaper than the normal Firestudio by sacrificing digital I/O, which you probably won't need unless you plan on hooking a bunch of other equipment. It'll fit your budget.
