I'm bored and just throwing out discussion topics. i honestly feel in 15 years we're going to see bands like My Chemical Romance on VH1 classic talking about how they used to dress and do their hair. I think its the glam rock of our time. Any guy who spends hours straightening his hair and putting on eye make up is either trying to be glam, or some other G word.

Lets hear some opinions.

ive made that comparison quite a bit, and yeah i think it is

No. Do think Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars are like those emo musicians. And glam was there first thus it wins.

Dress like a girl and sing about ****ing girls and drink whiskey.

I don't know about Glam but any band that does crazy makeup or wears Halloween costumes while performing **cough*Kiss*cough** has less of a chance of me ever buying any of their CDs.

Nope, Scene/Indie is the new glam rock.

I get very tense around apples...Well, I get very tense generally. I think I've fallen into the trap of blaming fruit.

idk, but I greatly prefer glam rock. something doesn't appeal to me about a whiney runt screaming his guts out about some chick leaving him and how he's going to disembowl her and cut himself with her bones.

its even worse when its ****ing 15 year olds, and ever single one is about "her".

ffs suck it up

i think being in a glam band required a little more talent. seeing as how bands like winger, motley crue, and poison had good solos

Yeah, I think emo (yeah I called it emo, get over it) is the new glam rock. A7X is the new GNR!

dude... wait slow down...

GNR was never glam rock.
Slash had a glam rock phase with other bands when he was like 17 and **** but glam rock involves dressing really weird, dancing around in your videos with really, really obnoxious clothes and wearing make up and having more love song related things, Appetite had some love songs but they revolved around ****ing each other dry and drugs.
Back then glam and hard rock bands was more of an image thing than a music thing anyhow. I'd say that Steven Adler and Duff would have passed as glam rockers but the other three were too far off.

(Glam rock is still awesome! CHERRY PIE!)

Yeah. I fucking hate these people. It's great how pissed they look in this picture though. They know they don't know shit about music.

And yes, I sort of agree.

No, emo is pretty much the opposite of glam metal(I assume you're not talking about David Bowie and New York Dolls glam rock). Emo is and was an underground DIY genre and glam metal was the opposite of that.
