Ok now here is what i am hoping to do. Once I get some programs i want to go about doing some recording and i would like to know how I would go about doing this. Now I wanna plug guitar into amp. Then from amp get a line out lead. Now here is the confusing part. I have been told this can work but im not too sure. Now is there anything that is like this http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/487f181f02d2c03c2741c0a87f9c06dc/Product/View/P6502

But in reverse, so that the guitar port is the socket and a small headphone jack on the other end? So that way i can go,
Line out > Proper cable > Jack I imagined > Computer

I did this because I couldn't possible go from amp straight to computer unless it is a long lead. I know its confusing but try to help me, please?

Try an 1/8 cable. From computer to the amp. Use the adapter tio make it a 1/4 cable.

Oh yeah, there is. You can find that kind of adapter basically at any electronics store.

But, if that doesn't work out, there's always the midi cable...

Fat end from amp, thin end to line-in (blue port). That's as simply worded as I can put it. Are you sure the amplifier out is a headphone port? If it's a speaker, you'll need one more cable and piece of equipment.

I'm guessing you meant the input/output/what ever they are called?

On my amp I have an Input, Aux in and a Recording Out/Phones

Surely I can use recording out for recording, right?

Yep. Stick the fat end into the phones, and the thin end to your computer.
