I've seen some video lessons on the internet lately and there was often mention that you should make your movements (with your left hand) as small as possible to get a fast speed.

My movements are not very small, especially with my pinky.
How can I practice to make the smaller?

EDIT: Btw, I have been trying some speed picking licks slowly while trying to keep my movements small but I can't do it on higher speed..

Read Freepower's first and second lessons. I've even provided you with the links

And for examples of very economical players, I'd recommend watching Shawn Lane, Michael Romeo, and the good ol' Yngwie Malmsteen. Lately I've been really desiring to play with the fluidity and economy that they do.
Thanks! Now at least i know i'm doing the right thing..
And those lessons are indeed really helpfull!

I'm off practicing
