so i got a question, and it may seem a bit of a dumb one, but how bad does an amp really run up the electric bill?

the last two weeks i've been using mine for a good 2-3 hours a day from mon to wed, cuz my dad's days off from work are thurs and fri (and i also work fri gay i know).

i mean, i suppose the obvious answer is a ton, but idk i could be wrong. My amp is a 100 watts, all tube (i keep it on the 50 watt setting though).

Your TV uses at least 10x more power.
A hairdryer uses 2000w. A hoover the same.

A guitar amp uses VERY LITTLE electricity (400W MAX).

EDIT: My amp uses less power then a lightbulb (my amp uses 50W, lightbulbs use 60W).

You said it yourself; your amp uses 50w. Most light bulbs are 45 or 60. So no.

+1.
It's a 100W output amp as well, so it could use 200-300W.

You're right. My mistake. My 40W tube amp takes in 180. On the lower setting, his is going to draw less than the higher setting, so it's still only a couple hundred, about as much to light his room.

when the hurricanes hit in florida, i used my amp on the generator. And we are jewish, so we are very cheap when it comes to using the generator when it takes gas (overall this means it uses probably less than you think)
dude, what about an actual solo in death metal instead of that poof from linkin park. Think of Pulse of the Maggots - Bed Of Razors
