is it really possible to lift your guitar by holding the tremelo arm only?!
#4
I'm not sure that's really good for the guitar, though. It doesn't seem like something you really want to do very often. Then again, it is Dragonforce...

i dont think so,m i think all ibanez's use the same trem arm, they just pull right out, no threads .. so unless he has it wayyyyyyy tight, which i doubt because he pulls it out and uses it in fire and flames

then yes..
but also no, this was probly just for the pic

he has a guitar tech and it's ZR bridge, so it's no issue to him.

edit : no not all ibanez have the same trem, the ZR bridge I know of has the same screw-in system similiar to other bridges.

people do it all the time, its flashy. just not too hard or you might rip the whole trem out of the guitar
#14
Yes but I tried it on my cheap squier and f*cked the bridge so i had to make my tremb a fixed bridge

The only people who do retarded things like that with their trem are the people that don't have to fix the trem after they do it.

Actually he has an Edge Zero on that one

No, the Floyd on my EX-360 has a screw in arm, therefore it's very easy to lift it with the vibrato bar.

Then again, this is an 80s Ibanez, so they may have changed **** around that I'm unaware of.

mine is fine after it comes back down. back into perfect tuning.
#22
I've tried it on my guitar. It works fine, my tuning wasn't out at all (and it's a liscened Floyd) and I've had no problems since I tried it almost a year ago.

That's because vintage style bridges aren't supposed to lift up like that.
It works fine with floyd rose style bridges, but it's probably not the best thing for the guitar either.

If you have a guitar as light as the ones that he uses and a tremelo as strong as the ones he uses, then yes. If you have a fender or a bigsby, I wouldn't recommend it.

what's the point in being "philiosophical"?

Interesting question...
#38
It's possible and easy, you just need a good floating bridge, a good tremolo arm, a somewhat light guitar and tough springs in the tremolo cavity.

Just make sure you have locking tuners too, otherwise you'll be so out of tune you'll play like Herman Li
