my friend and i are playing a small acoustic gig in a few weeks. we do all covers at the moment. we havent really played out much before, and when we have played out we only did a few songs. for this gig we have to fill up about an hour, and we only have about 40 - 45 minutes worth of songs right now. can anybody make some suggestions of songs we can add to our setlist based on what we have now?

this is our setlist so far:

blister in the sun - violent femmes
no rain - blind melon
rocky raccoon - the beatles
longest time - billy joel
losing my religion - r.e.m.
scarborough fair - simon and garfunkel
mmm mmm mmm mmm - crash test dummies
bewlay brothers - david bowie
man who sold the world - david bowie
eleanor rigby - the beatles
miss misery - elliott smith
look at your game girl - charles manson
mrs robinson - simon and garfunkel

thanks in advance. any help is appreciated

Wonderwall by Oasis, though it is cliche it's a good song to play acoustically.

Enjoy occasionally controversial ramblings related to guitars? I have a blog which meets these criteria.
If you're looking for a good Oasis tune besides Wonderwall, try "Half the World Away" or "Talk Tonight."

I also love playing "A Day in the Life" by The Beatles, "Tangerine" by Led Zeppelin, and "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead whenever I play acoustic. Try them out.
I agree, Talk Tonight is a great song acoustically. Also, 'She Is Love' by Oasis is another good tune. A bit sappy but super easy chord progression. SOme of my favs to play for acoustic gigs are:

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Elton John - Rocket Man
Lionel Ritchie - All Night Long
Ani DiFranco - Gravel
Dave Matthews band - Lie In Our Graves
John Mellencamp - Jack and Diane
N'Sync - Bye Bye Bye (paughable i know, but if you get into people do as well)
Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want

Hope that helps.
Good job with the Charles Manson cover. I adore him.

"Would" Alice In Chains
"Superstar" Sonic Youth
look into the Foo Fighter's In Your Honor second disc. it's all acoustic songs on there. Friend of a friend is a really good one to play.
