The Guitar i have now is only a cheap package one. £50 with a 12w AMP. Had it since last September/October.

Really getting into the swing of things now, so i think a new guitar is in order. (:

I have £150, can maybe push it to £180-£200... but thats a BIG maybe, so please try and give me suggestions around the £150 mark.

Type of musick i'm into is Alternative, Rock and a bit of metal.

Thanks, fallen.

First thing you need to do is replace the amp...you can get a Roland Microcube for about £65. That wouldn't leave you enough for a guitar but the amp is by far the more important upgrade. Get an amp first and save up for a guitar, there's no point making a tiny incremental upgrade, you want to get something better.

I'm guessing your guitar is a cheap strat copy, what to get next depends a lot on what you like the look of.

The Ibanez RG321MH would be a good one to aim for, it's £179. If you can't even save that much in the foreseeable future then the cheapest things worth looking at are some of the Vintage models or the Yamaha Pacifica 112

I'll be sure to give they links a look... I just searched for that amp, £69 from http://www.firebox.com/product/1893/Roland-Micro-Cube?src_t=wnw

As always im confused! What does this mean?

* 7 COSM guitar amp models including JC-120 and a special mic preamp model
* New Digital Tuning Fork with support for flat tunings up to 2 semitones

Again thanks alot for the advice! (:

Basically it simulates the sounds of some popular amps, the digital tuning fork is just a reference note, the amp can produce an A note for you to tune to.

basically it can sound like...

clean Roland solid state amp
clean Fender tube amp
distorted Vox AC30
distorted classic Marshall
distorted Mesa Boogie type

it also has an acoustic simulator and some nice bulit in effects.

i think the seagull has this one covered.

pacifica 112 (I've seen them go for £140 new) coupled with a microcube (I've seen them for £65, I think, or certainly £69) would be my pick if you can't save any more.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Yip I bought a Yamaha Pacifica 112v, 3 weeks ago for £139, plus a Line 6 Spider 15w, total £210. The amp has a load of effects, some ppl hate 'em some ppl lovel 'em. I love the amp and it's effects.

But the Pacifica is just pure class, did I mention it was only £139......
Yamaha Pacifica 112
Tanglewood TW15NS
Line6 Spider III 15w (playing into the MP3/CD input = bypass all the Spider processing)
Boss DD-3
DigiTech RP500

Not sure how the prices translate or if they ship overseas, but you might want to check out Rondomusic.com. They sell Ibanez styled Douglas guitars which look to be a good deal. We have some reviews of the SX brand of at FrugalGuitarist.com.
