it starts at 3:50, on the track, it seems like either he's using a wah or kicking in more distortion. That note he does in 3:50 sounds extra distorted, then he goes back to the distorted sound of the solo.
Can you make a screeching note with a wah?

the studio version or the live version? EDIT: it's probably just wah though, as azrael says...
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

It's a wah. The phrase right before 3:50 is most likely a wah in the heel down-ish position. He kind of quickly alternates it back to toe down all the way, and quickly moves it back forth now and then.

i think it's just wah, maybe a switch to the bridge pickup as well.
