can i use a different pack of strings on a guitar

for example the 6th 5th 4th 3rd and 2nd strings are ernie ball beefy slinkys and the 6th is a diddario super light

would it be ok?

the gauges are totall different (for example the gauge for the beefy slinkys is 11 but the didarrios are 9)

You can use strings from different manufacturers.

I normally restring with Rotosounds, but the B snapped, so I resorted to Ernie Balls.

The only problem is with the different guages, as you've pointed out. I think having a different guage can affected intonation, but I'm not quite sure.

No, the difference in tension is too small. But the daddario string will be less tense than the other strings, so playing will feel a little awkward maybe.

Oh, well, it won't really matter, but I'm suspecting the tone of the string will be a bit thinner of what it normally is.
