The whole forum won't get off prog bands cocks.
Me included with BTBAM and some Opeth.
Pretty much. The only band I can't get into is Dream Theater.

well, the thing with dream theatre is that you have these amazing musicians, and they have a friend and they ask "what can you play?" "nothing!" "ok, you can sing" they need a better vocalist man. Dragon force MIGHT be the same case.

Dragonforce are fine with their vocalist, since he fits pefectly with their kind of music.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

I think Anubis Gate's new singer sounds like how James LaBrie should

EDIT: one awesome prog metal band there too, check 'em out
I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

I have come home to Arkham.

Why is there so much LaBrie hate anyways?

I've never really understood it.

Prog metal is tasty. Any metal with a progressive flair is sure to catch my interest.

Some favorites:
Opeth
Agalloch (progressive to an extent, I'd say)
Edge of Sanity
In Mourning
Ikuinen Kaamos
Symphony X
Ne Obliviscaris

There's a cockload more, but those are the first that spring to mind.

EDIT: Almost forgot Sculptured. Almost.

Prog metal is really good, especially Savatage and all the bands who have already been mentioned. Im not sure how anyone could dislike prog metal, because its so wedely spread out, i.e prog-death, prog-black etc, that there's something for everyone.

James LaBrie is an amazing vocalist. And he's Canadian, so...

Prog metal is my favorite genre.

Yea, he's got such good range. I honestly don't know why so many here hate the guy.
DETHKLOK IS TEH ROXORZ!!!

I approve of these bands.

Gonin-Ish are amazing as well, and I haven't seen any mention of Cynic yet.

I really like prog metal, though, I don't have enough of it.

I love progressive metal! Though any genre can experiment and technically be classified as progressive *insert* metal, most of my very favorite bands would be tagged as progressive in some way.

Dream Theater
Symphony X
Vanden Plas
Death
Vintersorg
Agalloch
Tyr
Opeth
Kekal
Enchant
Ayreon
Ikuinen Kaamos
Nevermore
Fates Warning
Cynic
Ne Obliviscaris
Spiral Architect
Odins Court
Edge of Sanity
Spock's Beard
Mekong Delta
Orphaned Land
Amaseffer
Negura Bunget
Three

Though straight up progressive rock/metal is harder to come by these days, I doubt I will ever stop liking it. Bands that sound more like Rush or Jethro Tull with some death/thrash thrown in then Death/Thrash with a but of Rush or Jethro Tull thrown in.

Theres a whole 'nother forum for Prog, but since im here ill contribute.

I love Symphony X and Opeth and i used to love Dream Theater, kinda got over em though.
