I'm just learning sweep picking and was wondering how to use palm muting to mute the strings after you play them? Do you have to rest your palm just to the right of the bridge (i'm right handed), and rotate it as you strum downwards in order to rotate your palm onto the string above the one your about to play? Can you also use the heel of your thumb to do the muting? Like pick so that your thumb's heel is above your pick (about the distance between 2 strings), and then as you rotate your wrist the heel will mute the above strings?

Thanks

lol i mean the bottom fat part of yer hand. If you look at the palm of your hand, the muscly part of your hand right under your thumb, as if your thumb went all the way to your wrist. That area mmkay
