If i want to take my fender strat and replace the bridge (a normal classic bridge) with a Floyd Rose (or any tremalo system) do i have to get the guitar cut to fit the bridge?

if so, how much might that cost?
#2
not sure on the cost, but depending on the bridge you will probably have to get it re-routered.

if you want it recessed then yess hell of a lot or routing but its doable i did it to my strat but if you just want it to sit on top then all that you need to do is drill 2 holes for the posts its alterations no matter how you slice it tho man

it's going to cost about 180 for the tremolo, then about 200ish for install.

depends if you want to make the pitch go up or not. you could mount it flush like kazmo said it would be easier. and fyi that fr in the ebay link isn't a real fr it's licensed and you may be thoroughly disappointed with what you get.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

well, you will:
1. Fill the cavity
2. Drill holes for a ground
3. Route TOM recess.
4. Drill holes for the TOM
5. Drill holes for either a Stopbar or a set of ferrules
6. press TOM Bushings/ Stopbar Bushings/ ferrule sets in
7 set up.
