and It's simple!

What you Need
1.) Audacity (Free, Simple Program for recording, mixing, etc) .. google it.
2.) Mp3. file of your choice.

Now...

1.) Open said file into audacity and click on the track title..
2.) Click "Split Stereo Track"
3.) On both tracks, change it too Mono
4.) go to Effects, and use invert on the 2nd track.
5.) And then you have a song, WITH NO VOCALS :O

(I have tried this with multiple songs, and only Occasional vocals come through!)
If my directions don't make sense, sorry!

EDITZORZ: I've tried a lot of different stuff...
- Circa Survive worked well, but then I tried alexisonfire's "this could be anywhere" and it did not work..

Hopefully this helps out some of you though!!

I can just use the standard sound effects package that came with my comp and click "voice cancellation". Not 100% accurate, but much easier

Cool.
I came here to drink milk and kick ass.

... And I've just finished my milk.

I know a program I used to have called Goldwave had vocal removing options
'never a victim,' the role model said,
bang-bang, the bad guy is dead,
always a rockstar on eMpty TV,
the lesson complete, now the child has needs.

Goldwave has a vocal eliminator, but it is junk.

This, someone tell me now. NAO!

This didn't get rid of the vocals in my song. It got rid of the lead guitar track.

Yeah dude, thatd be nice to know if theres a way... is the other channel all vocals or something with the method mentioned by the TS?

Doesn't work. Tried 2 songs.
Join cashcrate to make easy money. It may be tedious, but it does indeed work! Easily make $100 in about a week filling out random surveys.

It's not a very good method. Usually just takes out all the bass and you can still hear the vocals.
#22
On one hand, this method reveals the RHYTHM guitar playing more, but it gets rid of most of the bass. You can still hear the vocals, except it is much less prominent and it has a far more echo-y sound. The drums sound kinda tinny and bright. It works if you're learning rhythm guitar (which I am ) but it sucks if you were going to use it as a bass track or a lead guitar track to play along. My $.02

To remove just the vocals from a song without getting rid of any other part, you'd need the master track.

^^ or you could just do a cover and kill your lead singer.

Or do a cover and kill AND rape your lead singer.

Not if he looks like me. I'm a dude, but get relentless attention from girls who like guys AND girls. Sounds cool now, but gets very emasculating.

I'll stick with the cover, whilst shutting myself up.

is there a way to take a guitar song like vai, satch, petrucci, gilbert, buckethead, etc..

and get rid of the lead guitar so we can make backing tracks?

I tried it with a buckethead song, and it just took bass out.

Try This:
Download any guitar pro file
Play it
Press Shift+Delete in vocals track
You can now play and enjoy

To put it on MP3..
Convert it by pressing Export -> Wav
Let it finish playing the song
Convert it from WAV -> MP3 by any freebie software
Enjoy
