Hey,

So Ive been playing guitar for 4 years and have had my yamaha pacifica 112 for 3 years now (soon to be replaced by a tele, maybe). For an amp I use the crap little 12 watt that came with the yamaha. So I plan to replace this (and go on and get a Fender Standard Telecaster for £285, Electron Blue w/ white pickgaurd and maple fretboard). Which of these (that ive had suggested to me) should I get?

1. Vox AD-30vt - http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/options.php?id=12940
2. Marshall MG30DFX combo - http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/marshall-mg-30-dfx/323
3. Orange Crush 30R - http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/crush-30r/67688
4. Anything else, please mention. Im open to suggestions.

BTW, my musical interests can be summed up in my 7 favourtie bands -

Pink Floyd
Radiohead
Eels
Kings of Leon
Genesis
REM
Led Zeppelin

I will be using my korg ax1500g multi-effects pedal, so effects aren't necessary.

Dont get the MG.
The MG series are ****.

The Vox and Orange are both fantastic for their prices.

If you are trying to get rid of a crap amp, solid state amps are not the way to go (especially with your taste in music). The orange amp is the best of the bunch, but I would get a blues-based tube amp like the epiphone blues custom 39 or a fender blues custom amplifier. The fender hot rod deluxe is also a great all tube combo amp.

^Some are, like the Spiders, but Cubes and Vox ADVTs and Flextones are nice. Line 6 gets bashed for the Spiders because they suck. I would actually get an Epiphone Valve Junior and an OD pedal for all those bands, but he might want good versatility with some better than decent tone, which is why I recommended the Flextone.

If you want, Laney VC15 - this amp is better then all of them combined.
Great for classic rock and indie. This amp should be perfect for you.

Forget the new guitar for the time being and get one of these, you'll be far happier in the long run.

The Pacifica is a good guitar, you don't need to replace it...the amp, however, is poo. If you really don't want to spend that much on an amp, and I highly recommend you do, then get the Laney VC15.

Of the amps you've listed the Vox is the best, but none of them are really going to give you the sound you want.

out of those choices i'd go with the vox definately. I'd presonally pay a little bit more and get a line 6 flextone iii off ebay new for £200 though.
