They are both very similar i think. As far as pickups go, im not too worried about them, im just gonna swap em out later for better ones. But how are the guitars themselves? are the bridges alright? I dont know which one would suit me better, they both seem very appealing.

id prefer the second one just because its an actuall model and not an artist model

I prefer the first one because it has a regular shape but try to find one without a name like killjoys suggested.

if you can stretch $70, i'd get this: http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?itemid=61166&sourcetype=singleitemsearch

if not, i'd seriously consider rethinking the whole floyd thing. cheap floyds on the whole suck, and you're better off without them. The whole point of a floyd is that you can go crazy on the trem and still remain in tune, and cheap floyds won't really let you do that (they may for the first month or two, until the knife edges wear down).
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

ya, out of those 2 i would go with the first one, but like previously stated, look for a non artist model. i would recommend this

http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-ESPM400?source=froogle

It is just a higher end version of the first, although a bit more expensive, you do get a set neck, alder body, true EMG pickups, and different inlays. But you do loose that extra knob.

both of those guitars are kind of pos. LTD's under the 400's have a tendency to be built with of the lowest quality. And there tremolos won't last long.

Wow that one is very nice, i can probably convince my parents to hike up my budget to around there. If possible, can anyone suggest me some guitars of similar price range and quality as the m400 so i can look at some other options?
