Pretty much self explanitory, but post an album you feel the user below must hear before they die, key tracks and explain why. I'll start:

Transilvanian Hunger changed the face of Black Metal, it's music in it's rawest possible form and the overall atmosphere of this album is amazing. Key tracks are
  • Transilvanian Hunger
  • Over Fell Og Hjennom Torner
  • En As I Dye Skogen

Your turn.

Pretty much the most catchy album ever. Really well written lyrics, amazing brass intrumentals, and overall just a great album.

Notable Songs: I have to say there is not one bad song on this whole album, and it's so diverse you can easily pick a favorite just through your first listen through.

Gillan - Glory Road

one of the best albums ever made, by one of the best singers ever: Ian Gillan

key tracks: well, they're all good, but unchain your brain, sleeping on the job, and running, white face, city boy are three excelent tracks for the sake of naming the tracks XD

Remain in Light by Talking Heads

-Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)
-The Great Curve
-Houses in Motion

Funky rhythms, World music, Post-Punk, New Wave craziness. The lyrics are fantastic.
Basically a record you can sit and think about, or get up and dance to. A must listen IMO.

Seperation Sunday - The Hold Steady

The best lyrics I've ever heard in my life. Plus the music is amazing, it's like Bruce Springsteen meets the Clash for the indie crowd. Even if you're not super-into indie rock, all of the instrumentalists are accomplished players in their own rights, and damn, I can't express how amazing the lyrics are. It's got more catchy hooks than a tacklebox. It's a concept album about an ex-Catholic girl who turns to drugs and prostitution and eventually refinds salvation. Inspiring, but sometimes graphic, stuff.

The best tracks are "Cattle and the Creeping Things," "Banging Camp," and "How A Resurrection Really Feels."

Nothing earth-shatteringly deep, but it's the kind of album you can listen to four times a day for a month and not be sick of it.

Pretty much the best in musical wallpaper. Acid jazz, deep house, ambient, call it whatever you want. Music you can chill to, make love to, drink wine to, try on clothes to, cook a meal to etc. Most of you will probably have heard a few of the tracks but have no clue of the artist.

Most famous tracks are So Flute and Sure Thing, but La Goutte D'Or and Montego Bay Spleen are my personal favorites.

Still Searching by Senses Fail

It's one of the most emotional and heartfelt albums I've ever heard. It tells a story of sorts, and it's obvious that the lyrics are just pouring out of the lead singer's (Buddy Nielsen) heart.

Key tracks:

*Still Searching
*Everyday is a Struggle
*All The Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues
*The Priest and the Matador

Absolution by MUSE

I think that practically all of the songs on it are good on it, there are some though that sound a bit more....classical, i'd guess you say. all in all, great album, and the video to the song sing for absolution is amazing...and a bit scary, in a way.

I've done my best to shamelessly promote this album on UG whenever the chance occurs, and this seems like as good an opportunity as any.

Addicted to Bad Ideas - The World/Inferno Friendship Society

My iTunes Top 25 Most Played contains all 11 of the tracks on this album. It is the single greatest thing I've ever heard in my life. World/Inferno is a cabaret punk band - they combine punk elements with an extensive brass section for one of the most innovative sounds I've ever heard in my life. The album itself is a concept album telling the story of Peter Lorre's (a Hungarian actor famous for his portrayal of a serial killer in the movie "M") life.

Key tracks:

  • With a Good Criminal Heart
  • "M" is for Morphine
  • Ich Erinnere Mich An Die Weimarer Republik
  • Thumb Cinema
  • Addicted to Bad Ideas

EDIT: ^My band used to cover "In The Aeroplane Over the Sea"
