I'm thinking of buying an Ibanez SV as my next guitar.
The reason why I want it is primary because of the tremolo and the S series mahogany body . Apparently I can lock it into drop only mode and down tune, which is awesome because i don't wanna go through the hassle of installing a tremol-no.

My questions are:

Do you guys think it'd make for a good buy?

Are the stock pu's good enough or would you folks recommend I swap em out?

I heard the S series has some serious sustain issues, is this true with the SV series as well?

Thanks,
Billy

PS: I'm running a Zoom 9.2tt through an atomic 50 watt tube amp

Sure.

They're not terrible. From what experience I had with them, I wouldn't rush to swap them.

If "It doesn't sustain as much as a Les Paul" is serious to you, then yes - they do have serious sustain issues. As do most other guitars. Objectively, their sustain is fine for what they are.
