a high gain tube amp. what's your budget and current rig?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

i have a squire electric, with a line6 15 watt amp with a couple settings including crunch, metal, and insane, just want to get something better than those and something that sounds alot closer.

ok doke. A roland cube 30 probably has the best high gain sound i've heard, out of cheaper solid state/modelling amps (however, i haven't tried solid state randalls, and some of the solid state kustoms also have a decent reputation, so both might be worth a try too). It's debatable if it'll be enough of an improvement over your spider, but the cube does sound better for high gain than the spider, if you ask me- it sounds more real and natural. doesn't sound as good as the real thing, but it's certainly closer. if you sell the spider, you should be able to upgrade to the cube for not all that much money (make sure it's the cube 30 you get- the 15 and 20 don't have the r-fier amp model, which is the one you want for modern metal).

how much money do you have? are you in the USA?

for the guitar, i'd advise something with humbuckers.
