Old Mexico Way (SHAKESPEARIAN REMIX)

I shot him right between the plastic eyes
of his goddamn Richard Nixon Disguise
His head flew back, hit the floor with a clunk
I stole his cash and put him in the trunk

I shot Tommy just to watch him die, Now
I’m heading all the way down fifty five
I drove down southward for five hundred miles
Straight through the desert with cacti and reptiles

His eyes stare at me through the cracked rearview
Crossing the Rio Grande is all I need to do
They’ll lock me up for forever and a day
If I don’t make it down Old Mexico Way

I couldn't get the lyrics to Old Mexico Way by The Lawrence Arms out of my head during my CW class.

Old Mexico Way (SHAKESPEARIAN REMIX)

This is really cool, very intense beginning.
His head flew back, hit the floor with a clunk
I stole his cash and put him in the trunk
The 'clunk' part, I found a little lame, but the rest was great.

I shot Tommy just to watch him die, Now
Do we have a Johnny Cash reference here? Hmm...
I’m heading all the way down fifty five
I drove down southward for five hundred miles
Straight through the desert with cacti and reptiles
The rhyme in this last couplet seems a tiny bit forced.

His eyes stare at me through the cracked rearview
Crossing the Rio Grande is all I need to do
They’ll lock me up for forever and a day
If I don’t make it down Old Mexico Way
I like the end here.

No real problems here at all, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Check out Rusty Skin in my signature if you want to.
