ok well here it goes.

I have a Vh-100r, i love it, it just lack s it bit of the kick

so the question is, should i invest in a peavey 6505

OR

just a get a rack effect, to eq and perfect the tone that i am searching for.

all help is appreciated.

peavey has the best distortion available, period.

however, the problem with a 6505, is that there is no clean channel, which, you might not need right now, but i would recommend limiting yourself to distortion. the 6505 is an expensive amp, so i would assume you're planning on keeping it for a while, and tastes/bands change. so i highly recommend not limiting yourself to only distortion channels.

i would suggest the peavey JSX over the 6505. it's a much more versatile amp and trust me, you can get a killer metal sound out of it...
#4
I hear the 6505's are unmatched for value/metal tone.
The Randalls seem to getting pretty popular these days too, maybe check those out.

yeah i would be keeping the laney should i get the 6505.

i hear the 6505 all the time and love its distortion

but im looking at this purchause as an investment,

a rack that would work with all future gear or the peavey which will have dominate distortion but lack the myraid of sounds that could be achieved by the rack and laney combo.

i play metal but, melodic to technical

to im not sure if the 6505 will be a waste of money seeing as how i already have a decent amp.

eh randalls are a turn of to me

Yeah man check out the Randall MTS series all tube modeling. From a Mesa to a Marshall to a Fender and more. Plus everyone has 6505,6505+, or 5150. Not saying their bad amps! Not at all. But something to check out its different.

You, sir, are uninformed. The MTS series is ALL TUBE with changeable preamps going through the same poweramp so you can get an amazing variety of tones. NOTHING like a Line 6 POD.

btw should the rack in thought is this ^^^

and its really only between that and the 6505

*ok uninformed i am-more like a line 6 spidervalve?*

im just cautious over amps and modeling.

whats the price of this randall series?

I wouldn't recommend the Gt-pro its not that great compared to an amp imo. I have the GT-8 and its not as great as my amps and i do have monitors.

Randall MTS are about 1 grand without modules. And each module is about 225$ I would get u clips but its in my friends studio atm.

I'm just putting that amp out there. I mean if you really want to stick to the 6505 then my all means do it. The MTS series aren't really out there too much and i think they should get more credit.

Well I would get the 50 watt RM combo and then have the two modules that come with it. That would be Rectifier for distortion and and Fender for cleans. Pretty much all you can ask for. Better than the 6505 for the price IMO.
