So guys, I've been browsing around eBay for a semi-hollow, and I found this beautiful 355. Well, I've got two questions for you guys...

First, is it a scam?

Headstock.
Body.

Second, apparently it's been refinished and was originally red. Is there any way to (safely and easily) get it back to this colour?

I think it looks fishy, and i think it would be rather hard to restore to red.

the headstock makes it look uber fake

I agree. Especially the headstock.

I'm probably just paranoid, but I don't want to post the listing because it'd make it that much easier for someone from here to swoop in.

If you guys don't mind me asking, what is so suspect about it?

Well maybe it's just me but...

The color of the fretboard is different for each picture.

One is more blu-ish black-ish like and the other more brownish one.

Like if one of them was ebony wood and the other rosewood

actually the headstock has the 2 screw cover and seems like a bit of an angle, making it seem like the real deal

Is the truss rod cover supposed to say stereo?

Indeed it is. It's generally one of the distinguishing marks of a 355.
