I'm trying to get a sound similar to Metallica's Load record.Any general suggestions?I have a viper with 60/81's and a roland cube 30x.I can't come up with anything that sounds similar.Thanks in advance.

Ugh. Did Kirk Hammet really scoop his mids? I want to kick him in the balls if he did.

Seriously though, TS, try your best to get it without scooping mids. The guitar itself is a midrange instrument. Good luck playing live without your mids... it just doesn't work.

yea...well Krik scooped his mids to like 1 on his amp and most metal guitarists do as well now, usually around 3 or 4

Yea I use to own a Peavey Envoy 110 and it came with a tone guide for different genres and to create a metal tone it said "Pre-gain 8-10, Low 8-9, Mid 2-3, High 5-7" and you used the post gain as a volume control.
