so a while ago my uncle gave me this ****ty guitar that looks like it was some norweigen metal dudes sex toy....haha
[ill post pics up later if you guys want...]

anyway,

i hadnt even looked at it again till about 2 days ago and realized it had a working humbucker...

so i took the thing out and found it says KSSC on the bottom metal plate.

i looked it up and an ad on ebay had similar ones which were vintage gibson pick ups????!!!!!

so do i have a vintage gibson humbucker on my hands or what???
#2
and another odd thing...

theres no tone or volume knobs on the guitar...?

is there a way i can rewire it and solder on a knob or two for the volume and tone???
#3
Pics please? There are no holes for knobs or there are just no knobs anymore?

sorry i hadnt realized my mom dropped the digital camera a while ago...

cant post pics=[[

there is one hole for a knob but no wires from the pickup for a knob...

its ****in confusing...
#6
and by the way it has a tremelo "thru" bridge

and the ground wire from the pickup is connected to the bridge....

whoever built this guitar was probably realllyyy ****ed up or stupid

Okay, so it looks like an Iron Bird with no knobs or switches? What about inlays and stuff, more details plawks.

the best way to find out is to post pics of the guitar itself. Including pics of the body, and the headstock and any kind of serial numbers you can find

The point is that they can't post pics... How about the serial number though, has it got one? Or is it like a home made guitar.

i can send pics with my phone if you guys have pic messaging....

but yea basically i know for sure it was custom built, no serial number, the neck is 24 frets its a cherry red color and has some scratches in it which look like attempts at a name or initials...
#12
Hmm, I want pics, but I'm aussie, so yeah, might be rather expensive to send pics to my phone lol.

If you have a camera phone you can send the pics to your own email and upload 'em that way. Simply type in your email in the "to" slot as if it were a phone number, and it will show up in your email inbox. Download it from there then upload it here!

**** yeah man, I'd say buy an EMG 81 for it, comes with the pots and wires and stuff, so yeah. And it shouldn't be too hard to install. Also you should put new inlays on, maybe like what Dave Mustaine has on his dean guitars these days, with the dot and the kinda sharkfin thing. 'Cause I'm lovin' the body shape, very metal lol. Oooo, painting it black would be pretty cool aswel =P

yea i was thinkin emg's but something heavier than the 81 or 85, maybe some Dimarzio's...

then a Jet Black finish, Floyd Rose Tremelo bridge and like you said some crazy custom inlay...

then shred it=]]
#38
I reckon a floyd rose would be a little hard to put in, you'd needa make some extra room, and chuck on a locking nut/retainer bar. But hey, if your up for it lol.. Too bad I can't help you... Stupid ocean. =P

You could even make it dual pickups, that'd be pretty cool, and you could just do something like Dimebuckers if you want a good sound. And because they're not active's it's pretty straightforward to install.
