they're good. quality, sound and looks, they're really good. made in japan, means better craftsmanship. some say they're better than some Gibson LP studios.

Custom Shop aside, I'd take one over any new Gibson. Solid body, long neck tenon, perfectly built... so yeah. Only downside in my opinion is they use a poly finish rather than nitro, but's it applied nicely, not caked on like midrange Epis. If you don't like the headstock find a Japan only model, those use the open book headstock.
