Hey guys I need suggestions for songs about losing a loved one (not as in breaking up but about someone you love dying) for a project I'm doing. I've tried Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World but my group mates said it's not touching enough. So yea, I need your help!!

no i cum blood.

I'll see you in my dreams- I particularly like the Joe Brown version form the "Concert for George"
They credited us with the birth of that sort of heavy metal thing. Well, if that's the case, there should be an immediate abortion.

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Shadow Gallery has some touching lyrics on their concept album called Room V

Second track is called Comfort Me and the main characters fall in love.

Quote by Comfort Me

I look into your blue eyes deep pools I had no idea
I know hunted down from coast to coast
Circumstance prevailed it was hard on us both.
I've run hard, I'm so tired from the chase
So desperately I'm aching
The waning of the starlight
Embers turn to ash as I fade.

And now you're next to me
I beg you baby please don't go
End of the road for me
I'll just hold you close
Just hold you close
End of the mystery a gift from heaven on this day
Your touch to comfort me
Just comfort me

In the track Lamentia, the male character expresses sadness that his lover died while giving birth to their daughter.

Quote by Lamentia

And now you've gone away
I begged you baby please don't go
Away and leave me here
I am broken I am broken
And I know
Winter is bearing down
On wings of Angels so your soul
Is in the hands of God
My tears on the wind

Tears in heaven. Although it was written for his son, it works.

Also, I'm not sure if it works or not but All Things Must Pass-George Harrison is a pretty decent slow and sort of sad song. Although, I'm not entirely sure if it's supposed to be sad

The ENTIRE Morningrise album by Opeth is about mourning lost loved ones. The Night and the Silent Water is about visiting his grandfather's grave and is VERY well-written, but if you want something lighter go with To Bid You Farewell, which has very little metal elements.

It's the only proper choice, don't put stupid Pantera or whatever. Only these songs will capture the pain of loss in the music as well as the lyrics.
