Hi. Just wondered what most people considered to be the best Metal Distortion/Overdrive pedals that don't destroy the natural tone of the amp.

I've used the Digitech Grunge. Reaaalllyyy good pedal in my opinion.

Not really for anything specific - just interested in what most people are using. But for arguments sake, lets just go with an all tube Marshall (DSL/TSL/JCM-800) etc.

Never thought of trying one. Do they give a good treble sound?

If you sit down with Pizza Pockets and some milk...you can tweak it just the way you want it.

...better not be an MG

but if it really is a tube marshall, then an overdrive pedal as a boost.

Do you mean boost the dirty channel? I've never been a fan of distortion over distortion.
