ok so i need a metal song for my band to cover. here's what their terms are (oh noes)
-No growling or screaming
-Cant be about rape or gore
-"easy enough" bass part
-able to be played by 1 guitar

That's why I then suggested I'm Broken - PanterA, though anything from the CFH to FBD era would work fine.

So they want you to play metal without any aggression?

I don't think that that's possible.

Any song by Tool, although you might have some problems with the bass part and the singing XD...but if you nail it you certainly will leave people amazed...
Try out "Vicarious", "Schism", "The Pot", or "Lateralus"
BTW its in drop D

EDIT: oh that's lame, learn to scream then.

SUPEREDIT: how 'bout: I'm Broken - PanterA

Or you could just learn to make a valid suggestion and not sound like a pompous dick with your "/thread" bull****.

Seriously, it ought to be a warnable offense.

Anyway, try Ace of Spades by Motorhead. It's fun, catchy, and up your ass.

"they dont mind the gritty type scream though", screams = usually metal . I don't recall hearing any 'gritty screams' by Chris Cornell...

Screaming/growling definately isn't necessary for a metal band to have aggression.
Only for "modern metal" bands to be "br00tal" and heavy.

Make your bass player learn "Peace Sells"- Megadeth.
Fun aggressive song with easy vocals.
#26
i doubt the bassist could do Peace Sells, but its a very good suggestion.

Ace of Spades might just work!

I'd like something kinda well-known, i want the crowd to get into it.

I thought about Iron Maiden, but the bass parts aren't exactly a walk in the park. Still, I suppose it can't hurt to try The Trooper or Hallowed Be Thy Name.

EDIT: I just thought of Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue. Guitar Hero's popularity might help the crowd get into it.

Shout At The Devil may work.

Is the bass hard in Enter Sandman? that might work too.
When all else fails, ask the pit.

Slayer?
EDIT: Damnit, I forgot there are usually two guitar parts!

Well some of the bass parts are tricky.......
Yeah, now you're gonna die wearing that stupid little hat. How does it feel?

I make custom guitar wiring harnesses and I'm pretty damn good at it!

Shout at the Devil would be cool.

The bass in Enter Sandman is pretty easy, straightforward just filling in the cracks.

Electric Funeral... im liking it

so far you've got some pretty good suggestions...

but you can NEVER go wrong with Paranoid - Black Sabbath

^I'm just wondering if i could play and sing Sandman at the same time.
