So...I've been playing guitar for two years and I'm still having fun with it, however I have this urge to try bass out. Problem being I don't have any friends who own one and I'd hate to buy a bass guitar and find out it isn't quite my thing. Advice?

Well, Borrow or Steal one, or just go into a shop and play some basses, do this for a bit, and if you want to buy one, buy one, alot of the other stuff you need to know can be found here:

Just visit music stores frequently and try out the basses there. That should give you a good taste of the bass.

I say buy a used cheaper one that's a good deal, then if you decide you don't like it, sell it. Craigslist....
