Hey guys,

Not new to the GB&C forum, just kind of a silent watcher....okay, that sounds creepy, maybe not quite that bad.....

What I am wanting to do, may be impossible on a first build, BUT I can get wood cheap where I am going to school.......

So here are my specs for my first build....

7 String Neck through/string through 25.5" Scale
Non-tremolo "Soloist" style body
HH Setup with EMG 707-81 in the bridge and an EMG 707 in the neck
Mahogany body
Flame maple top (carved)....2nd hardest part
Rock maple/mahogany 3 pc neck M/RM/M or RM/M/RM
Ebony fretboard (warmoth)
Trans-blue stain paint job......this is probably the hardest part.

What do you think UG....can I pull it off?

Also, what do you think of the wood selection, I play mostly metal and heavy rock, and I am wondering if the maple neck will be too bright.....

Any ideas or suggestions?
I've bought, sold, and traded more gear than I care to admit.

Wood selection is fine. Trans blue stain job isn't hard at all. The hardest part about that build would definitely be the carved top. Thats actually not that complicated of a build.
