Hi. Getting a Marshall 1960A cab this week but just wondered if any one can tell me what the difference is between the ones that say "1960 Lead" and the ones that say "JCM 900".

Cheers.

The JCM900 ones were the ones made for the 900 series amps obviously, they came with the half-stacks. The 1960 A or B cabs are just with a different logo on it. Speakers in both can vary, just check what speakers are in both.

indeed. The difference is the speakers. Some of the older 900 cabs only have a single 16ohm input, with the later ones and all 1960's that i've seen have switchable impedances and both stereo and mono jacks.

speakers are either V30's or marshall branded speakers of some sort I believe. Cant quite remember.

how do those marshall handles compare tonewise to, say, mesa handles?
