Now I need dough,dineros,pare..MOOOONEY...

So in order to get that,I'm a paper boy, applied for work on a ranch, and next summer I'll get a part time job as a driver.

Anyways I'm saving up for a New Kawasaki Ninja 250R(Or a used Suzuki GSXR 600 K5) so i need...ugh,about 10 k bucks(full motorcycle gear included,racing style)

So we've come to the idea of Google Adsense, bough a bunch of internet site making programs and educated ourselves in making one(site, not program)

So I need an idea for an amusing site that would get a lot of visits.

(no none of that funny sh*t,that thing is far played out)

How about a large website full of guitar tabs, news and lessons? Complete with its own forum. This is the most original idea ever and theres no other website like it.

EVERYTHING has been done. Just rip something off that isn't well known yet and advertise it better.

make a new version of youtube, they've had problems lately so there will be place for a new number 1.

here's an idea: a site dedicated to bands, like UG is dedicated to guitar, make something like ultimate-band.com, you could have biographies of all the bands, tabs and techniques, tips on promoting ur band and making it sucesfull.

what do u think?

sounds like too much effort, people would always just use wikipedia and UG if they wanted that info anyway.

Will not work, unless you're planning to spend alot of time on it. I know from experience that pretty much everything has been done, and to make even more than $50 a day from adsense you'll need a quality site that's been up for a good few years with original content. Spend your extra time on another standard job.

If I knew a site to get millions of views, and make loads of profit from adverts, I sure as hell wouldn't be telling you, I'd be making it myself thanks.

Good idea, but instead of well known bands,i could write about local demo bands, and set up the local alternative kids to visit it and spread the word..

Shit, dude... I'd visit. Though that'd be one weird site navigation bar.

The Origin of the Universe
The Theory of Evolution
Porn
The Bible
etc.

Just to add, people who actually make a considerable ammount of money from sites don't start of by thinking "I'm going to start a site to make money", normally it starts out as a hobby and with time and effort it draws in new users which means more conversions from your adverts. Even if you were to start a new site that would be popular, the majority of your traffic will come from google, and for your site to even get listed there a 2 or so month "validation" period that your site goes through before it even gets on there. And only then can you start competing with all those sites with high pageranks that have been there for 5 or more years for a first page place - depends on the subject of your site though, of course.

You earn on average about $0.2/10p per click, depending on the content of your site/ads, and an average conversion rate is probably around 0.5%. That means for every 200 page views, you get 1 click - so yo ucan see why you will need a considerable ammount of traffic to make much money at all.

Did you actually read what I posted? I never said Adsense would take 2 months to recognise your site, I said it would take 2 months for your site to get listed on google (which is where most of your traffic would be coming from, unless you have some magic trick up your sleeve). And what does "being on" Adsense have anything to do with my post? Doesn't change the fact that you wont be getting any, if very little, revenue from a site when you have so much competition.

^Don't mean to discourage you, give it a try anyway, it'll hopefully be fun and you can learn some stuff from it, but I'm just saying - don't expect too much, or you'll be let down, even if you spend hours and hours and hours setting this up.

Having your own website will cost your more than you bring in. Unless you're selling something.

Seriously. I've tried tonnes of times.

the guy from Budalizacija.com get's 1000$ a month,if i get half,scratch that,third(yes 333.33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333,the fact that there is no third,drives me crazy for nights) I'd be overjoyed.

As i said, the major plan wouldn't actually be that much on google

it would be like this

we promote a demo band, they get attention,of course they want more,so they tell their friends heeeey chek this out we're on a site, yeah it's official now,and voila,we get clicks

and both of us are happy

Some good ad placing and you can get that convertion rate MUCH higher..
People these days just don't know how to place ads

And to answer the first post, there are no unique sites anymore and entertainment sites (like flash games you mean??) don't pay very well with adsense..

Good luck though

how bout a webiste of heath ledger jokes.
The Mitch Clem formula
1)make jokes about rancid and NOFX (as if they dont already make fun of themselves)
2)make obvious punk puns, possibly related to food
3)make fun of Rancid and NOFX again
4)??????
5)PROFIT (and an army of internet fanboys)

Indeed you can get much higher, but it really depends on how well the ads suit your visitors. A general PC support site, or technology site will get a high conversion rate because it's very easy to find suitable ads for that. Most other sites get a very select range of ads that are relevent, and the majority don't actually have anything to do with the site at all. About ad placing, it's tricky to get right because you don't want to annoy your visitors, or they wont be coming back.
